So Molly and I are sitting at McDonalds again using their wifi and I already see some familiar faces. A lady that was in the other day came in, got a small meal, and is sitting in the same place as last time. I wonder if this is a daily routine for her? She looks kind of lonely... makes me sad. I'm starting to fall in love with Surfers Paradise. It's become home since now we know our way around town and are able to walk every where. Last night we walked into town and got smoothies. On our way we stopped in a art gallery where we taught Christian (one of the guys who worked there) the "SoCal handshake" (just the high five with a pound). He was obsessed. He told us to come stop by anytime we were around and we all agreed to go back and buy one of his photographs. They're not too badly priced for Australia. We are gonna all try and head over to Burleigh on Thursday and scope out our apartment/make sure we still have a reservation/try and request a ocean view room. Hopefully it has a legit porch where we can do homework/journal/drink a beer/talk/hangout.
I'm not really sure what else to talk about. Not too much has been going on (I know I say that in all my blogs). It's been pretty lowkey now that we're pretty settled and starting to get the hang of everything. We've finally got the bus system down- knock on wood- and it's not too much of a hassle. It seems like a common thing here, to take the bus, unlike home where I don't think I've ever ridden on one. It will definitely be more of a culture shock going home than it was coming here. I've also finally gotten used to the driving on the opposite side of the road thing. Now when I go home I'll be looking the wrong way. It's only been 2 1/2 weeks and I already feel like an "Australian" haha. We'll see what happens after 4 months :)
Well it's 9:36pm and I have a big school day tomorrow starting at 8am and going till 6pm. I have a 3 hour break so ya'll should go on Skype or iChat and call me !! My break is from 11am - 2pm so 5pm-8pm.
Cheers!
